Watching ballerinas doing the swan dance is surreal. Surveillance cameras are strategically installed all around the stage to catch all the details of the performance. Ballet does not just target one body part, it is a total workout that starts from focusing on balance. When you have got that down, the rest of the body parts follow. The Barre is a handrail found in ballet studios which ballerinas use to steady themselves. Dancers also use the barre to create resistance and work out muscles in the upper body such as the biceps, triceps, deltoids and shoulders. Holding the basic ballet arm positions also help tone the upper body.
